These models that have the ability to understand and respond automatically to information are known as machine learning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is Machine Learning?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a very superficial way, we can define machine learning as a type of Artificial Intelligence that develops techniques that allow machines to make decisions. They learn by finding patterns in the data and predicting later situations.<br \/>\nIt is a really broad field that is constantly evolving and we can differentiate between:<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Supervised learning<\/u><\/strong>: These algorithms start from the basis of prior knowledge on which to base decisions. Some of the most important algorithms are:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Linear regression<br \/>\n\u2022 Logistic Regression<br \/>\n\u2022 Classification of Na\u00efve Bayes<br \/>\n\u2022 Neural Networks<br \/>\n\u2022 SVMs (Support Vector Machines)<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Non-supervised learning<\/u><\/strong>: In the non-supervised on the contrary, we do not have prior knowledge about the data and we try to find a structure or pattern. Some of the most important algorithms are:<br \/>\n\u2022 K-means<br \/>\n\u2022 PCA (Principal component analysis)<br \/>\n\u2022 Clustering algorithms<br \/>\n\u2022Principal component analysis<br \/>\n\u2022 Independent Component Analysis<\/p>\n<p><strong>Machine Learning Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We can talk about as many applications and situations as we want to imagine, there are sectors where it can be key for decision making such as medicine, where to decide whether to perform an operation or not to a patient or in the business world to know on which dates it is better to lower prices or estimate sales.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More applications<\/strong>&#8230; search engines, speech recognition, language or robotics. More examples that we see or will see in our day to day life may be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Face detection<\/strong>. We see it on our mobiles.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Anti-spam<\/strong>. Through the use of tags.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Anti-virus<\/strong>. Detecting malicious software.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Genetics<\/strong>. In the classification of DNA sequences.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Forecast<\/strong>. We see i ton forecast predictions or traffic.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Comprehension of texts<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Autonomous vehicles and robots<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Analysis of high quality images<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Analysis of consumer behavior and productivity<\/strong>. For the identification of potential customers and in general in sectors such as telco, banking, insurance &#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Machine Learning world covers a large field within the Big Data universe and is increasingly relevant. The number of techniques and algorithms is very extensive and continues to evolve.
